Daytona Beach Police Respond to 3 Violent Crime Calls on Sunday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Daytona Beach Police Department was on the scene for three separate violent crime calls on Sunday, according to a release after the day's end.

The first of the three calls occurred at 4:30 am, when two men broke into a person's home. They forced entry through the front door and demanded drugs and money. The pair shot the victim in the shoulder, landing them in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both assailants were described as juveniles.

At 6:00 am, a security guard and other employee were locking the gate to their workplace on Mason Ave. Two men wearing Halloween masks then ran up to the vehicle and started firing shots at the two in their vehicle, according to the report. The employee was hit in the abdomen, but is now stable and not in mortal danger.

At 6:40 am, an individual saw someone looking into their vehicle, and decided to confront that person. A dispute ensued, leading to the stabbing of the victim in their forearm. This victim was treated and released from the hospital.

The locations of the second and third incidents were redacted in the police reports.
