Daytona Beach Shores, FL - The Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety evidence technician is organizing a supply drive to help earthquake victims in Puerto Rico.

Carlos Rodriguez has been hearing first-hand from family and friends about the devastation.

A message from Carlos:

"Most of my family and friends are sleeping outside their homes in their cars or on mattresses they have brought outside. They are scared of the house falling on them. As you know Puerto Rico hasn't been the same since the hurricanes. The economy and infrastructure has taken a huge hit. Thousands of buildings, houses and even schools have been damaged by the earthquakes."

Donations can be dropped off at the public safety building Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Items in need are:

▪️ Camping tents
▪️ Air mattresses or sleeping bags
▪️ First aid kits
▪️ Batteries
▪️ Whistles
▪️ Candles
▪️ Mosquito repellent
▪️ Flashlights
