Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach Police Department's (DBPD) Special Investigations Unit conducted two separate raids on drug houses recently, one on March 24 and the second on April 1.
Two men were arrested in the March 24 raid at an apartment located at 426 N. Caroline Street. Detectives received a search warrant for the address and served it just after noon, discovering just over 100 grams of cocaine inside the apartment along with 4.6 grams of oxycodone and over $4,000 in United States currency.
The search found three EBT cards in 32-year-old Devin Favors' wallet, none of which were in his name. He's charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell (felony), Destroy/tamper with physical evidence (felony), Unlawful possession of personal identification information (felony – three counts).
Also arrested is 32-year-old Maurice Fields, who was found actively cooking crack cocaine inside the kitchen when SIU arrived. He's charged with trafficking in cocaine (felony), Destroy/tamper with physical evidence (felony), Possession of oxycodone (felony), Lease/rent structure to traffic narcotics felony).
On April 1, SIU entered a home at 528 Division Street at 5:45 a.m. with a search warrant. One resident as the home, 24-year-old Aaron Thomas, was taken into custody and charged with trafficking in three different kinds of drugs (MDMA, heroin, and fentanyl) along with possession of cocaine and cannabis, all felonies. He’s also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers found over 600 grams of MDMA – also known as “Molly” or “Ecstasy” – in the home as well as over 60 grams of cannabis, nearly 20 grams of heroin/fentanyl, and over 15 grams of cocaine. Two firearms were also seized.
