Daytona Beach, FL- A museum in Daytona Beach is dedicated to educating the public about the importance of our veterans. A formal dedication takes place on August 6. The Veterans Museum and Education Center was started by John Brinkley.
Brinkley said a major goal is to educate the younger generation about the cost of freedom. Volunteers travel to area schools to do just that.
The museum has a lot of memorabilia and Brinkley is hoping to add to the collection. He said that uniforms from every military branch are on display. The museum also has a collection of weaponry and flags.
The museum is on the second floor of the old Dunn building in Daytona Beach. Brinkley said the space is donated by Dr. Wahba, a local physician. The formal dedication takes place on Saturday, August 6, at 1 P.M. at The Veterans Museum and Education Center, located at 166 S. Beach Street.
