Deltona Trash Routes to Be Serviced Saturday

Posted

The trash routes which were not serviced on Thursday and Friday due to the impact of Hurricane Milton will be completed on Saturday, the City of Deltona announced in a statement Friday. WastePro will be making up its routes throughout the day, and residents are encouraged to place their trash on the curb in preparation.

The trash collection will service both regular household trash and yard debris from the hurricane. Residents are asked to place any yard debris on the curb next to their normal trash. It will not need to be tied up or placed in bags to be collected. Another encouraged practice is to collaborate with neighbors to combine piles of yard debris, making the collection process go more smoothly.

Beginning next week, all WastePro trash pickup routes in Deltona will return to their regularly scheduled days and times. The City of Deltona is continuing to provide updates on the situation at their website, www.deltona.gov.

As of early Friday afternoon, just shy of 127k tracked homes are without power in Volusia County. That makes up 39.5% of the homes listed in the database, an improvement over the initial widespread power outages that sent linemen scrambling to restore electricity to much of Central Florida.
