Bunnell, FL - The Flagler County Sheriff's Office is enlisting the public's help to find a fugitive who opened fire on an occupied vehicle.
Deputies say that the incident took place on Sunday (January 12th). It was that day that someone reported that a suspect, who was later identified as 27-year-old De’Vantell
Rashaun Cooper, shot at a vehicle on US-1 in southern Flagler.
During their investigation, a detective with FCSO's Major Case Unit was able to secure an arrest warrant. And, due to the fact that Cooper was already out on bond for a narcotics charge, his bond has been revoked.
“This is a dangerous individual who needs to be taken off the streets as soon as possible,” Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office or CrimeStoppers as soon as possible.”
Cooper is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an occupied vehicle. His warrant also allows for nationwide extradition.
According to FCSO, Cooper is known to law enforcement in the county as a repeat offender. They have cited multiple arrests for narcotics, burglaries, fleeing or eluding and firearms charges.
