Early Primary Voting Starts This Weekend

Daytona Beach, FL - We're now a few months away from the general election which means it's time to start thinking about the primaries. And, if you're looking to get your vote in early, you have your chance starting this weekend.

Early voting begins at on Saturday (August 8th) and will run straight through to next Saturday (August 15th). Six different locations will also be open for voters.

    • Deltona City Commission Chambers - 2345 Providence Boulevard*
  • Daytona
    • Volusia County Library Center at City Island - 105 E. Magnolia Avenue
  • Port Orange
    • Port Orange Regional Library - 1005 City Center Circle
  • Ormond Beach
    • Ormond Beach Regional Library - 30 S. Beach Street
  • New Smyrna Beach
    • New Smyrna Beach Regional Library - 1001 S. Dixie Freeway

And there will be new safety measures in place as well. Lisa Lewis, Volusia's election supervisor, said plexiglass barriers will be installed between voters and poll workers. Poll workers will also be supplied with gloves, masks, face shields, disinfectant and hand sanitizer. Sanitizer is also available for voters.

An ID with a photo and signature is also required. Anyone who cannot provide one can vote on a provisional ballot.

Polling locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit the county's elections website.
