FCSO: Fugitive Loses "Game Of Hide-And-Seek" Against Deputies

Posted
Bunnell, FL - A man with an active warrant in Volusia County who tried hiding and misdirecting deputies ends up in handcuffs with additional charges. Flagler County Sheriff's Office says 40-year-old Jesse Pack "lost a game of hide-and-seek" last night (January 13th) against deputies when they came to serve his arrest warrant. Deputies say his warrant from Volusia County was for kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. When they went to Pack's last known address off County Road 200 in Bunnell, they found a mattress outside the door with a message written on it, saying Pack wasn't home.

"I know my warrant is active. I'm not here I am finishing a job and turning myself in to Volusia Branch Jail! Jesse Pack."

However, Brittany Kershaw, the public information officer for FCSO, says deputies didn't pay attention to the note and knocked on the door regardless. That's where a female answered the door and said Pack wasn't home. She would eventually let deputies inside to search the house, regardless whether or not Pack was there. However, deputies happened upon a wooden cabinet where they found Pack hiding inside. Pack told deputies that he hid in the space when he heard dogs barking because he believed deputies came to arrest him. “Ready or not, here we come!,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This guy clearly thought he could hide from our deputies but this is not the first ‘cat and mouse’ game a fugitive has tried to play. We won’t stop until we find you! Great job by our team and now Pack can face his charges in Volusia County and Flagler County.” Pack was found to be in possession of a cigarette pack containing a glass pipe with a burnt residue. He was taken into custody for his warrant as well as resisting arrest without violence and possession of drug paraphernalia by FCSO deputies. Pack was transported to Flagler County Jail where he currently remains on $1,000 bond for his Flagler charges, he's also currently awaiting extradition to Volusia County.
