FCSO Puts Known Criminal Back In Jail

Palm Coast, FL - Flagler County Sheriff's deputies are charging 23-year-old Rico Ransom Junior with Fleeing with Disregard for Safety to Persons or Property, Burglary of a Dwelling, Driving with a Suspended License, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cathinones, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. That's after they spotted him traveling at over 100 mph on U.S. 1 early this morning (June 11).

A deputy spotted the vehicle around 1 a.m.  As he approached, the driver turned off all lights and turned onto Karat Path in Palm Coast.  The vehicle traveled off the roadway on Kankakee Trail and over a concrete culvert, launched through another swale, and onto Kaufman Place before becoming disabled on the swale. The driver jumped out and fled on foot.

Deputies established a perimeter, bringing in an FCSO K-9 Unit and asking for air support from Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Air One helicopter. Ransom was found in an enclosed porch on Kannapolis Place. A search of his vehicle found Methylenedioxypryovalerone, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

“A traffic stop turned into a search after this guy fled recklessly and crashed his car and took off
running,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “His attempt to hide from deputies only resulted in even more charges
after he took out a mailbox, damaged some swales, and burglarized a porch to hide. Another great job
by our deputies getting a criminal off the streets and back in his familiar bed at the Green Roof Inn."

FCSO has arrested Ransom a number of times. This time, he's being held without bond.
