FDOT Seeking Public Input for DeLeon Springs Road Widening

Posted

DELEON SPRINGS, Fla. - The Florida Department of Transportation has a public meeting scheduled this week to solicit input on the planned widening of US-17 in DeLeon Springs. The portion of road in question is a bit more than a mile and a half long, and would stand to go from two lanes to four.

FDOT records show there’ve been dozens of car accidents along this stretch in recent years, and many residents have been petitioning for a road widening for years.

If it’s given the final go-ahead, the road widening would happen some time in summer 2023. The project is expected to cost in the neighborhood of $30 million. Those interested in attending this meeting can do so at 5:30 pm on Thursday, at Calvary Full Gospel Church.
