Flagler Beach, FL - Flagler Beach City Hall and the City's Building Department are closed and will remain that way until Tuesday, January 12, 2021, after Interim City Manager Rick McFadden tests positive for COVID-19.
In a press release, McFadden says that he found out that he tested positive yesterday (January 7) afternoon. "While I am feeling mild effects of the virus, I am resting, upbeat and following the advice of medical professionals. I will remain quarantined at home until I can fully recover and return to work when it is absolutely safe to do so."
City Hall and the City’s Building Department are closed so that both areas can be thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. McFadden said, "While performing my duties as the Acting City Manager and the Chief Building Official, I have split my time at both City facilities, thus the need for their immediate closure and cleaning."
As of today, the City plans to proceed with all meetings scheduled in the Commission Chambers during the closure "with appropriate procedures to protect the health and safety of the public, elected officials, and staff being observed."
