Bunnell, FL - The newest report from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office says crime saw a major drop between 2017 and 2018.

Just yesterday (February 26th), FCSO compiled their 2018 Uniform Crime Report for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

That report showed that crime statistics in FCSO's jurisdiction decreased a total of 22% from 2017 to 2018.

A quick breakdown shows that Violent Crime, which includes murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault dropped 16.3%. Property Crimes such as burglary, larceny and motor vehicle theft dropped 24.7% with total arrests up 15%.

"We have a terrific motivated team serving the community and I attribute the reduction in crime and the increase in arrests to their proactive police work," says Sheriff Rick Staly. "Our crime fighting strategy is working. We capitalize on using real time data analytics to focus on the criminal who are responsible for most offenses."

In addition to releasing their 2018 statistics, the report was also made available electronically. You can view their full report by clicking here.

FDLE's semi-annual 2018 Uniform Crime Report (which covers January to June in 2018) shows that, statewide, crime has decreased by 8%.
