Flagler County, FL - Commander Gerald Ditolla of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office graduated from the prestigious Florida Sheriffs Association's Commanders Academy last Friday. The program is a two-week training course that is designed to help train the next generation of Sheriff's Office leaders. The course brings together Sheriff's Office employees from all over Florida and provides participants with the tools they need for senior leadership in 21st Century American policing. Ditolla was one of 29 graduates of the Academy's fifth class. "This program gave an in-depth overview of a wide variety of topics relevant to the Office of the Sheriff, which provided the participants with the tools necessary to be successful in their communities," said Ditolla. He added that he was honored to be accepted into the elite program. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly expressed his praise for Ditolla and the Commanders Academy. "This is a great program to enhance Commander Ditolla's leadership skills, and I am sure Commander Ditolla is coming back with a wealth of information to share with his deputies and continue to help lead this agency and make our community safer," said Staly. Ditolla's graduating class also raised over $17,000 for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, an organization which improves the live of at-risk children through its six residential campuses and its summer camps.
