Free Pet Microchip Event At Volusia Animal Services Headquarters

Daytona Beach, FL - Volusia County Animal Services is holding another free microchip event and it happens on Saturday. Director Adam Leath says he's excited that the event is taking place as part of the grand re-opening. "We want the public to come out and see just how exciting the new graphics and the new painting are. We'll have a special guest. Santa Claus will be helping with the microchipping."

The event takes place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 1250 Indian Lake Road, just past the Volusia Sheriff's Office. You can find the registration form by clicking here.

Leath says that it will be a contactless event and people bringing their pets won't even have to get out of their vehicle. Those attending are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face covering.  "We greet you at your vehicle. You'll come into the line. You'll be asked for some general information. You'll be filling out a form. We'll retrieve your pet and bring it inside. The microchipping process only takes a second."

“Our residents have always been extremely supportive of the programs and services we provide,” said Leath. “This is our way to give back to the community and help people and pets. Whether they’re getting a pet microchipped or just want to come by and check out our new paint scheme, we’re hoping for a good turnout.”

This is the third free microchip event that Volusia County Animal Services has hosted in the last six months.
