Gas Prices Ticking Up Once Again

Posted

Gas prices across the state of Florida rose 11 cents on average last week, according to a report from AAA. The uptick moved most areas even further above the $3.00 mark than they already were.

The statewide average got to $3.31 per gallon by Thursday, up from $3.22 a week prior. A spokesman with AAA reasoned that jumps are common this time of year with spring break taking effect.

As of Sunday the statewide average was listed at $3.31, as compared to $3.39 a month ago and $4.35 a year ago. Florida is still slightly cheaper than the national average, which sits at $3.47 as of Sunday.

The cheapest gas for Volusia County residents is the Shell station on Granada Blvd in Ormond Beach, reported at $3.04 on GasBuddy as of Monday morning. For Flagler County residents, the Shell stations on Palm Coast Pkwy are both reported at $3.22 as of Monday morning, the current cheapest rate in the county.
