Halifax Humane Society To Host Dog Park on Ice, A "Christmas in July" Event

Daytona Beach, FL - The Halifax Humane Society is partnering with the Daytona Ice Arena to host Dog Park on Ice, a "Christmas in July" themed event.

On Wednesday, July 12, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM, you are invited to bring your dog to Daytona International Skateway, located at 2400 S. Ridgewood Ave. in South Daytona, to cool off and socialize with other dogs.

The event will benefit the Halifax Humane Society's efforts in rehabilitating animals in the community and is sponsored by the Daytona International Skateway, PAWZ Dog Boots, the Real Estate Housewives of Port Orange and Pet Caress.

If you pre-register by 5 PM on July 11, admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and free for children under 3. This fee includes your dog's ice session, PAWZ shoes to protect your dog's feet, 2 slices of pizza and 2 drinks for adults or 1 slice of pizza and 1 drink for children. The event will also include a "Christmas in July" themed costume contest with an award for a small dog, large dog and a person.

If you register on-site, the admission fee will be $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Check in will begin at 5:30 PM, but those participating in the the large dog session are suggested to start checking in at 6:45. If you are bringing both a large dog (36+ pounds) and a small dog (35 and under pounds), you are asked to participate in the large dog session for the safety of other small dogs.

The event's schedule is as follows:

5:30 PM     Check-in begins

6:00 PM     Skate session for small dogs

6:25 PM     Small dog break

6:40 PM     Skate Session for small dogs

6:45 PM     Suggested Check in for large dogs

7:15 PM      Skate session for large dogs

7:40 PM     Large dog break

7:55 PM     Skate Session for large dogs

8:20 PM    Large dogs off ice

8:30 PM    Event ends
