HHS Neuter Campaign Gets PetSmart Grant

Daytona Beach, FL - A local animal organization gets $40,000 from a charity to help introduce a new campaign meant to reduce the local pet population.

It's known as the "Happy Neuter Year" campaign, and it's being spearheaded by the Halifax Humane Society with the help of PetSmart Charities.

Through PetSmart's donation, HHS will now be able to provide $25 neuter surgeries for around 400 male dogs and cats at its Redinger Spay/Neuter Clinic in Daytona Beach, located on 600 Mason Avenue.

This special $25 rate is lower than the organization's regular price. Cats already cost $25 for a neuter surgery, but male dogs start at $55 and can run up to $90, depending on their weight.

"PetSmart Charities is thrilled to continue working with the Halifax Humane Society to help pets and pet parents in need in Volusia County," said Sima Thakkar, regional relationship manager at PetSmart Charities.

The special rate will be available this month through February.
