Tallahassee, FL - A new Democratic challenger has emerged for Rep. Elizabeth Fetterhoff, R-DeLand, as she seeks a third term in the Florida House. Daytona Beach Democrat John Navarra opened a campaign account Tuesday to run in 2022 in what is now Volusia County’s House District 26, according to the state Division of Elections website. DeLand Democrat Jacob Johnson also has an open account for the race.

In another 2022 House race, Gainesville Republican Tayari Amie Appiah opened an account last week to run against Rep. Chuck Clemons, R-Newberry, in what is now House District 21 in Alachua, Gilchrist, and Dixie counties, according to the Division of Elections. Clemons has represented the area since 2016. The boundaries --- and potentially the numbers --- of districts will change before the 2022 elections because of the once-a-decade reapportionment process.
