Local Agency In Need Of Donations For Thanksgiving

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - The Jewish Federation of Volusia & Flagler Counties is getting ready for Thanksgiving and is in need of financial donations. Executive Director Gloria Max says they have an opportunity to get a matching grant if they raise a total of $3,000 by noon this Friday, October 16.

The catch is that in order to get the matching funds, your donation has to be made online. The Jerry Doliner Food Bank, which is part of the federation, has teamed up with 'A Community Thrives' for a fundraising challenge.  As of today, another $1,066 is needed to meet the $3,000 goal. Max asks that you visit acommunitythrives.mightcause.com to donate. "If you care about the needy in this community, please help us by going  on the website and go to community thrives mighty cause, to the turkey appeal."

Max says they have already received about 200 requests but she expects there will be a lot more.  "We are trying to raise money for our Turkey Appeal. This is one holiday that families like to eat together. It's even bigger than Christmas. Last year we did 450 turkeys with everything along with it."

If you or someone you know is in need, visit the website jewishfederationdaytona.org or call the office at 386-672-0294.
