One man has been fatally shot in De Leon Springs, the Volusia Sheriff's Office announced early Wednesday afternoon. As of now, little is publicly known about the nature of the killing.
According to the VSO's report, the incident occurred on Monday at around 9:15 pm on Tomoka Woods Parkway in De Leon Springs. A domestic dispute was said to have arisen, culminating in shots being fired.
The one victim is a 52-year-old man, who was reportedly already dead by the time emergency responders arrived at the scene. The VSO did not clarify where on the man's body he'd been shot.
As of Wednesday, no suspect has been identified or taken into custody, and no charges have been filed in connection to the shooting. An active investigation is ongoing, and the VSO says it will update the community as more information becomes available.
