Holly Hill, FL - A 23-year-old Holly Hill man is now facing aggravated battery charges after he fired a gun during a heated argument over a dog.

The Holly Hill Police Department says they were called out to an address off of Montgomery Avenue around one o'clock this afternoon (September 12th) in response to a shooting complaint.

There, police met with the victim who said he came to the address to make a visit with his dog. According to the victim's narrative, that's where he went to meet with Eric Neely, who was keeping the dog at the aforementioned location.

Neely allowed the victim to walk the dog down the street, but when he asked to drive the dog to the dog park, Neely refused.

Despite Neely's refusal, the victim loaded up his dog in his truck, turned around and proceeded south down Montgomery Avenue. That's when he said Neely raised a firearm at him and fired. The victim said he was in fear for his life and sped off before dialing 911.
