Marine Science Center Turtle Release Tomorrow

Ponce Inlet, FL -Two juvenile green sea turtles will make their way back out to the ocean tomorrow morning. The pair, Radar and Zodiac, have been under rehabilitative care at the Ponce Inlet Marine Science Center.

Radar was found in New Smyrna Beach on September 21 with a constriction wound caused by fishing filament on his left front flipper. A veterinarian determined that the flipper could not be saved and it was amputated. Staff says Radar swims well and is able to dive and find food.

Zodiac was found dehydrated and lethargic about six weeks ago in Ormond Beach. Science Center staff treated him and he's ready to go back where he belongs.

Depending on weather and surf conditions, Radar and Zodiac will be released at 10 a.m. at the Beach Street Ramp in Ponce Inlet.
