Missing Woman Found Deceased in Osteen

OSTEEN, Fla. - 46-year-old Misty Mereles was found deceased in Osteen on Tuesday after being announced missing over the weekend. The exact details of Mireles' disappearance are still unknown, but authorities have confirmed there is no suspicion of foul play or suspicious circumstances.

The Volusia Sheriff's Office announced on Monday that they were searching for Mireles, asking for the public's help in finding her. They said she'd last been seen between 3:00 am and 4:00 am on Sunday, having left a party off of Underhill Branch Road in Osteen. Her physical description was given and she was said to have left on foot.

The search for Mireles concluded on Tuesday when officials found her body near Lake Harney Road. Possibilities of her demise include suicide and accidental death, but the VSO has confirmed to the community that homicide is not suspected. The agency then extended its condolences to Mireles' family and friends.

Mireles was a longtime resident of the Volusia County area, having attended Deltona High School in her youth. Those close to her have described her as a beloved wife, mother, and friend.
