Palm Coast, FL - A mother of an unattended 2-year-old who told law enforcement that citizens can't arrest her gets arrested by Flagler deputies.

Around 6:30 Wednesday night (April 3rd), the Flagler County Sheriff's Office was called to the intersection of Rolling Fern Drive and Roller Lane with reports of assault and battery.

There is where witnesses say 35-year-old Alexis Williams had hit a man with her car.

According to one of the witnesses who call 911, he and his wife watched as a two-year-old male ran down the road by himself.

He told FCSO that he and a couple of other people in the area stopped the child in efforts to hopefully find his parents.

After being on the scene for 10 minutes, Williams arrived in a red Land Rover and told people not to judge her as she grabbed her son.

The witness then told the woman that law enforcement had been called and she should stay in the area until deputies arrived.

Williams did not listen and she tried to leave the scene.

Another witness began to take photos of Williams and her license plate. As he did, Williams put the vehicle in reverse and turned the wheel, striking the witness with the back of her vehicle before leaving the area.

The witness who was taking photos told deputies that he wasn't standing directly behind the vehicle and that he believes Williams hit him on purpose.

He said that he used his forearm to push off of the vehicle to keep from falling after he got hit. The photos he took were handed over to FCSO.

The next day, deputies, along with the Department of Children and Families, arrived at Williams' home off of Roller Lane.

When asked about what happened, Williams said that she did not hit anyone with her vehicle, but her vehicle was hit by someone.

Deputies asked why she didn't stay on scene, to which, according to FCSO, Williams replied: "This is not California and citizens can't place me under citizen's arrest."

Williams was then arrested by FCSO, charged with aggravated battery.

She was booked at Flagler County Jail with a $2,500 bond. Current records show that she has bonded out.
