New Smyrna Beach, FL - A 29-year-old New Smyrna Beach man is in the Volusia County Jail, awaiting extradition to the Florida Keys. Lowell Davis was arrested by the Volusia County Eastside Suppression Team on Tuesday of this week on an arrest warrant from Monroe County, Florida, for Written Threat to Kill Monroe.

Deputies were BOLO'ing for Davis when his vehicle was spotted traveling northbound on State Road 415. A traffic stop was conducted near the Samsula Landfill and Davis was immediately taken into custody on the Monroe County warrant.

A search of Davis' vehicle turned up seven baggies of a gray powder substance and a number of syringes. All field-tested positive for heroin.  They also found unopened packages of Buprenorphine and Naloxone film packages (Suboxone), which is used to treat heroin addicts.

Davis now faces felony drug charges in Volusia County with a $5,000 bond.  The bond for the written threat to kill charge is $50,000.
