NSB Police Investigating Graffiti Vandalism In Venetian Bay

Posted

New Smyrna Beach, FL - Residents living in a home on King Palm Drive in New Smyrna Beach got an unhappy surprise this morning (July 29) when they found racial statements spray-painted in orange on their vehicles. There were two vehicles in the driveway with "Die Gook Rat" and "Gook Retard Rat" defacing them.

The owners of the vehicles last saw them the night before around 7 p.m.  The man was leaving for work around 7:15 a.m. when a neighbor alerted him to the graffiti and nails on the driveway. The man said that his dog barking woke him up around 2 a.m. He checked but did not see anything.  Both he and his sister-in-law, the owner of the other vehicle, said they didn't know of anyone who would vandalize their vehicles.

Investigators collected ten photos, one video and two nails of the crime scene. No paint cans were located. The victims said the damages to the vehicles would cost around $2,000 to fix.

At this time, there's no description of any suspects. If you have any information, contact Detective Olsen at 386-402-7765 or by email at bolsen@cityofnsb.com
