Organizers Pull The Plug On Rockville

Other major festivals cancelled in slew of coronavirus closures

Daytona Beach, FL - Before being able to properly say welcome, Daytona now bids farewell to Rockville.

Since the major outbreak of coronavirus in the United States, festival organizers Danny Wimmer Presents were quiet and cautious about when to announce any kind of change to their upcoming festivals. That included Daytona's first swing at one of Florida's largest rock festivals, Welcome to Rockville.

But, just today (March 23rd), DWP announced through their Facebook that Rockville – along with Epicenter and Sonic Temple – will not be postponed, but instead cancelled entirely.

"Before accepting this fate, we worked really hard to try to reschedule the festivals," DWP said in a prepared release.

Full refunds are available to those who purchased passes to Epicenter, Rockville or Sonic Temple. However, DWP said that since people expressed interest in exchanging their passes for other festivals or later festivals, they now offer three new options:

  1. A full refund of your pass
  2. Apply your pass to a 2021 festival
  3. Use your pass for another 2020 festival
