Posted

One man has been injured in a shooting that took place in the vicinity of Ormond Beach, according to a statement released Tuesday afternoon by the Volusia Sheriff's Office. According to the release, the incident occurred at around 7:42 pm in a residence on the 1900 block of Linville Road.

The shooting came as a result of an altercation between two male suspects and the victim, a 36-year-old man who lived in the house where it all went down. Precise information is presently scarce, and the VSO has only clarified so far that the two suspects came to the victim's house in order to 'dispute a personal matter'.

At some point in the dispute between the three men, the discourse turned sour and at least two shots were fired. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen, along with one grazing wound to his head. He is expected to survive his injuries, according to law enforcement.

As of Wednesday morning, neither of the two suspects have been confirmed to have been taken into custody. An active investigation is underway, and more information has been promised by the VSO at the time when it becomes available.
