Ormond Beach, FL - The shooter that put a stray bullet in a bystander's leg at CoCo's Nightclub in Ormond Beach was busted after he was identified on YouTube wearing a shirt with pink flamingo-print.
25-year-old Shantonio Kemp was charged with the shooting at CoCos. At around 2 AM on July 22, police heard several gunshots and rushed to the club's parking lot. A 24-year-old woman was found with a gunshot wound to the thigh. Her injuries were not life-threatening. Deputies say witnesses were hard to find, but they were able to determine that the shooter was wearing a shirt with pink flamingos on it.
One day later, a video of the party surfaced on YouTube with Kemp wearing the distinctive shirt. Detectives distributed photos to other law enforcement agencies to try to identify him. On August 3, he was arrested in Putnam County after being located in Palatka, and he was booked in the Volusia County Jail. He is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was held on a $50,000 bond.
Kemp's previous charges include first-degree homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting into dwellings, according to Volusia County Sheriff's Office. He was sentenced to three years in prison back in November of 2013 but released in June 2015.
