Daytona Beach, FL - A female inmate passes away in Volusia County custody and the Sheriff's Office believes that an overdose is to blame.
According to the Volusia Sheriff's Office, 41-year-old Tina Giovino was found unresponsive in her cell just before 4:30 yesterday morning (February 24th). She was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where she was pronounced deceased around 5:30 a.m.
Giovino's cause of death is undetermined as of right now while the Sheriff's Office waits for an autopsy result. However, VSO says that the circumstances and the evidence gathered so far appear consistent with a drug overdose.
