DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Peabody Auditorium in Daytona is hosting an exciting - and strange - event next month. The Honest Amish National Beard and Moustache Championships will be running from Thursday, November 2nd to Sunday, November 5th.

Over 300 participants are expected to compete next week, with over 50 classes over four categories in the event. Registration is still open for those hoping to compete, available at the competition's website.

“We are excited to bring the championships to Daytona Beach,” said Bryan Nelson, Creative Director of Beard Team USA. “This will be the first time that the Nationals have been held in Florida and we are looking forward to seeing the fabulous local facial hair that the Sunshine State has to offer [...] There is something for everyone and it is a surprisingly fun way to spend an afternoon.”

Participants will also be attempting to set a Guinness World Record for Longest Beard Chain. The current record was set at last year's event in Casper, Wyoming. There, 69 men formed a beard chain of 150 feet, 10.75 inches. In addition to attempting to top that number, participants will also be chasing Longest Moustache Chain, Longest Partial Beard Chain, and multiple others. That portion of the event will take place at Joe's Crab Shack on Friday, November 3rd.

Spectator tickets for the Honest Amish National Beard and Moustache Championships are available for $10 at the door. Children 12 and under will be allowed in for free.
