Police Investigating Shooting Death in DeLand

DELAND, Fla. - A middle aged man was shot and killed in DeLand Saturday evening, according to a release Sunday from the Volusia Sheriff's Office. As of Monday afternoon the VSO is still investigating the incident to find out what led to the fatal conflict.

The VSO was alerted to the shooting by a 911 call placed at around 10:45 pm on Saturday. The caller said they'd found an adult male unconscious on the ground in the front yard of a residence on S. Massachusetts Ave. Initial detective work determined the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was 50-year-old Hector Hernandez Pasquale.

As of Monday afternoon the VSO still does not have a suspect in custody in connection to Pasquale's killing.
