Port Orange Campaign To Support Local Venues

Posted

Port Orange, FL - The city of Port Orange is running a campaign to show support for local businesses affected by the local state of emergency due to COVID-19

Public information officer, Christine Martindale, says the campaign is an effort to boost the local economy and the goal is to remind residents to keep it local when considering purchases and services. "We have a hashtag called keep it local and the campaign is really to help market local area businesses and encourage area consumers to make the conscious decision to keep it local."

Martindale said that the city has an LED billboard on the east side of the Dunlawton Avenue bridge to remind residents to keep it local. "It will be running for about one week but it will actually be up there, in and out, for the remainder of the summer. We wanted to kick it off there."

Yard signs and decal stickers will be available later this week, according to Martindale, to promote the campaign. "Port Orange-South Daytona Chamber of Commerce is showing their support  and they're going to be the location for local business to pick up their signs."

Citizens are encouraged to post and share messages on social media using the hashtag #KEEPITLOCAL
