Roar Before The Rolex 24 Happens This Weekend

Daytona Beach, FL - The Roar Before the Rolex 24, kicking off the 2020 season at Daytona International Speedway, takes place this weekend, beginning tomorrow, January 3. DIS spokesperson Andrew Booth said this is a massive test session featuring all of the Rolex 24 competitors taking part in the race that happens January 23-26. Besides the testing, there will also be a race on Saturday. The three-hour IMSA Prototype Challenge is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.

If you already have your multi-day tickets for the Rolex 24, Booth says you can get in free to this weekend's Roar Before the Rolex 24. In addition, pit boxes and garage stalls for the 58th Rolex 24 At DAYTONA will be determined by a special qualifying session. Each IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship class - DPi, LMP2, GT Le Mans and GT Daytona - will have a 15-minute qualifying session.

The drivers that will be testing for the Rolex 24 include two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Daytona Prototype international co-champions Juan Pablo Montoya and Dane Cameron, 2019 Indianapolis 500 champion Simon Pagenaud and three-time Indy champ Helio Castroneves, and five-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon.

Booth says this is an infiled only event. Tickets for Friday and Sunday are $15 each. On Saturday, due to the race scheduled, tickets are $20. Kids 12 and under get in free each day. Tickets can be purchased online at daytonainternationalspeedway.com or by calling 1-800-PITSHOP or at the gate.
