DeLand, FL - The other suspect wanted for a shooting in a DeLand subdivision is now in custody.

Back in January, 25-year-old Dexter Chambers was shot twice in the arm and once in the buttocks at the Candlelight Oaks subdivision.

A month after the shooting, DeLand police identified Day-Mont Ward and Stephen Bruten, both of whom are 18-years-old, as the primary suspects in the case.

Ward's arrest came a month after the announcement, but Bruten was still not in custody. His arrest came another two months later, after he was spotted walking into a Sherwood Drive home yesterday (June 24th).

Once he was spotted by police, the home was surrounded. Bruten ended up surrendering to officers without incident.

He now sits in Volusia County Jail, charged with attempted first degree murder, along with cannabis possession and loitering.

Bruten was given no bond.
