PORT ORANGE, Fla. - An investigation is underway by the Volusia Sheriff's Office following the discovery of human remains in Port Orange on Wednesday. The remains were reportedly discovered by a work crew in a wooded area off of 6118 S Ridgewood Ave.
Very little is known about the nature of the remains as of now, but a statement from the VSO stated that they were skeletal in nature, and so were presumably in their current position for some time. Investigators hope to discover the identity of the remains and cause of death.
Little else is known about the nature of the discovery, but more information will be reported as it's made available by the VSO.
