Daytona Beach, FL - Three people lost their lives following an accident that the Daytona Beach Police Department continues to investigate.

Two of those victims, a 46-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, were from New York while the other victim, a 65-year-old man, came from Missouri.

According to investigators, the accident took place just before 12:30 this morning (March 10th) at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard (ISB) and NASCAR Drive. When officers arrived, they found three Harley-Davidson motorcycles and four people who were directly involved.

The only survivor from that incident – a 55-year-old Missouri Man – told officers that he and the other Missouri rider were riding westbound down ISB towards NASCAR in the middle lane on their own bikes. The third motorcycle involved was also heading westbound towards NASCAR in the outside right lane, almost parallel to the other two motorcycles involved.

The New York man operated the motorcycle with the female as a passenger.

DBPD's Traffic Homicide Unit believes that at some point the motorcycle operated by the man from New York crossed into the path of one of the other bikes while its operator tried to change lanes. That's when both bikes collided, which caused everyone to fall off their bikes.

The three victims passed away from their injuries at the scene. The other Missouri man was treated by paramedics at the scene and refused transportation to the hospital. Police say that charges are not pending at this time.

Investigators are also withholding the names of the victims as they are still waiting on next-of-kin notification.
