The Volusia Sheriff's Office announced on Monday that they seized a large amount of cocaine and other narcotics in a Deltona home. The bust, which occurred on Sunday, yielded several drugs and firearms in a home where young children were present.
According to the VSO's report on the bust, they received a disturbance call about a gunshot on El Campo Avenue in Deltona. Upon responding, deputies reportedly discovered the drugs and guns in reach of young children who were present. A search warrant yielded 592 grams of cocaine and 29 pounds of cannabis plus suboxone and MDMA, as well as drug paraphernalia, a .223 Ghost firearm, a 9mm Springfield pistol, a 9mm FN pistol, and a .40 S&W pistol.
Two individuals were arrested as a result of the investigation. 27-year-old David Lopez was charged with armed cocaine trafficking, armed cannabis trafficking, possession of schedule II and III drugs, possession of MDMA, owning or renting structure for trafficking, and possession of paraphernalia. He was denied bond. Victor Cruz was charged with nonviolent obstruction of an officer and violation of probation.
