VCC To Put Relaunch Volusia Into Motion

Posted

DeLand, FL - The Volusia County Council has an ambitious agenda for tomorrow, pertaining to Relaunch Volusia, the funds coming in from the federal government, and how that money will be dispersed.

The county is eligible for more than ninety-six million dollars from the Coronavirus Relief Fund. That money can only be spent on costs for necessary expenditures incurred due to the recent public health emergency between March 1 and December 30, 2020.

To help Volusia County small businesses, County staff has developed the Relaunch Volusia: Small Business Reopening Grant Program. This program can provide up to a $3,000
grant to assist eligible businesses as they re-open or return to pre-COVID-19 operating levels. Staff is requesting County Council approve, by resolution, the authority to launch and fund this grant program with $10 million from Volusia County's CARES Act stimulus grant.

Because of COVID-19, the public has the chance to express their opinion on agenda items online. If your opinion is received by 5 p.m. today, it will be read at the beginning of the meeting.
