DeLand, FL - The Volusia County School Board meets tomorrow and is expected to approve the Salary Schedules for Volusia United Educators-Support (VUE-Support) and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Council 79, Local 850 (AFSCME).

The raise for support staff follows the three-year contract signed in November 2018, which allows for a 2.5 percent salary increase.  The VUE bargaining team had one session with VCS to have the percentage increased to three percent before the District canceled the negotiations.

Eligible employees will advance one step on the salary schedule with the remainder spread over the salary schedules. This is the final year of the current contract.

AFSCME represents bus drivers and attendants, maintenance personnel, and School Way Cafe staff. Their two-year contract is in its final year. The average raise is set at three percent.

VCSB is also expected to approve the purchase of 20 new school buses in the amount of $2,223,940.
