Edgewater, FL - An Edgewater man ends up behind bars after detectives say they found him with over 200 pornographic images and videos of children.
37-year-old Christopher J. Skowronski was arrested Friday afternoon (March 1st) by the Edgewater Police Department.
Volusia County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Laura Williams says the agency's Child Exploitation Unit started looking into Skowronski in November 2018.
"Detectives found 236 electronic images and videos in the defendant’s possession," Williams added. "The images portrayed girls between less than a year to 9 years old in sexually explicit situations."
Electronic devices from his Sea Gull Court home were seized during a raid on January 10th after VCSO and the ICE-Brevard-Volusia Child Exploitation Task Force obtained a search warrant, per Williams.
"Detectives interviewed Skowronski," Williams noted. "An arrest warrant was issued (March 1st)."
As of this morning, Skowronski is held on a $300,000 bond at Volusia County Jail on 30 counts of possessing photos and videos depicting the sexual performance of a child.
More charges are possible as investigators put the finishing touches on the case, per Williams.
No court date has been scheduled for Skowronski, according to Volusia County records.
