WNDB Team
Volusia County voters took part in dozens of different races on Tuesday, deciding the men and women who'd lead their counties, cities, state and country. Some of the most important leadership positions in the county, such as Sheriff and County Council, were decided both in landslides and close races. Several cities, as well as the state, put forth ballot referendums to amend their city charters and the state constitution. Judges at multiple levels of office in Florida were put before voters to confirm or deny another term.
Overall, voter turnout in Volusia County came out to 68.81% according to data from the Supervisor of Elections Office. 454,831 voters turned in ballots, either on election day, in early voting, or via mail-in ballots. Volusia's partisan political makeup matched that of Florida as a whole, with the county opting for Donald Trump for president and Rick Scott for senator.
