Volusia County Chamber Alliance Offers PPE To Local Businesses

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - Starting in a couple of weeks, local businesses in the Volusia County area will be able to pick up a personal protection equipment (PPE) kit, free of charge, all thanks to the Volusia County Chamber Alliance.

This was made possible after the Volusia County Council approved the $1 million expenditure last week, with funds coming from the county's $96.5 million federal stimulus package from the CARES act.

With that money, the county purchased about 7,000 PPE kits that are now headed off to be distributed by the Volusia County Chamber Alliance at six different locations over five days.

Those dates and locations are:

  • Monday, July 6th, Port Orange: Port Orange South Daytona Chamber, 3431 S Ridgewood Ave
  • Tuesday, July 7, Daytona Beach: Daytona Regional Chamber, 126 E. Orange Ave
  • Wednesday, July 8, New Smyrna Beach: Southeast Volusia Chamber, 115 Canal St
  • Thursday, July 9, Ormond Beach/Holly Hill/Deltona: Ormond Performing Arts Center, 339 US-1 and the Center at Deltona, 1640 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd
  • Friday, July 10, Deland: Wayne G. Sanborn Activity & Events Center, 815 S. Alabama Ave.

To claim a kit, businesses must provide a business card that shows they are from a Volusia business and sign that they received the product. Anyone picking up a kit may do so at any one of the sites. PPE kits will include masks, gloves, sanitizer, paper towels and cleaning product. Businesses may only claim up to two kits at the distribution sites.
