
Volusia County, FL - The Tomoka Farms Road Landfill and the West Volusia Transfer Station will be open Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9. Both facilities will close at 3 PM Sept. 9 and remain closed through Sept. 11. Weather permitting, both facilities will reopen for normal business hours Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The Tomoka Farms Road Landfill is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 PM Monday through Saturday. The West Volusia Transfer Station is open 7 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, and 8 AM to 3 PM Saturday. Refuse, recycling and yard trash collection services for unincorporated Volusia County is suspended Monday, Sept. 11. Weather permitting, collection will resume Tuesday, Sept. 12. The make-up trash collection schedule is as follows:

Daytona Beach:
- The city's EOC will be fully activated beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday,
Sept. 9.
- The city's Citizen Hotline, 386-671-5555, will open at 8 a.m. Saturday,
Sept. 9.
- City offices will be closed Sept. 11 and 12.
- The fishing portion of the Daytona Beach Pier will close at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. The entire pier will be closed at Joe's Crab Shack's close of business Saturday, Sept. 9.
- Friday and Saturday nights' concerts at the Bandshell have been canceled, as well as the fireworks show. The Midtown Motown concert on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Cypress Park is canceled.
- Next week's meetings of the Code Enforcement Board, Special Magistrate, Downtown Redevelopment Board, Midtown Redevelopment Board and Beachside Redevelopment Board are canceled.
All garbage, yard waste and trash containers from the curb by the end of the day Friday. Do not bring additional trash to the curb until after the storm has passed. Yard debris, garbage cans and recycling bins can clog storm drains and become projectiles during high winds.
DeBary:
- The City of DeBary and City Hall will be closed through Monday, Sept. 11.
- Waste Pro will not provide collection on Monday, Sept. 11; collections
will be picked up Tuesday, Sept. 12.
- All collection routes will roll to the next day. This is subject to change based on the environment.
- Items on the curb not collected by Friday evening should be stored where they
will not become a hazard.
- Report any potentially hazardous items or material by calling 386-878-8511.
- The city's concert series scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9, is canceled.
- The Sept. 11 City Commission Workshop is canceled.
- The City of Deltona's Citizens Information Center, 386-878-8511, is
open until 6 p.m. today.
Holly Hill:
- There will be no trash or recycling collection Monday, Sept. 11.
- Tuesday trash and recycling collection will remain. Trash will be collected Thursday, Sept. 14.
- Recycling will be collected Monday, Sept. 18.
- Contractor and city crews will begin clearing roads when it is safe to do so.
New Smyrna Beach:
- All city offices, with the exception of the golf course and sports complex, will be open to the public until 5 p.m. Friday. Offices are expected to open Tuesday Sept. 12.
- All city gym activities are canceled Sept. 9 and will be closed until further notice.
- All classes in city buildings scheduled for Sept. 11 and 12 are canceled.
- The Babe James Center will close at noon on Saturday.
- The Community Garden ribbon cutting is canceled.

- The airport tower will close if winds reach 35 mph.
- North Causeway access will be restricted in the event of dangerous
conditions. The South Causeway will close if winds reach 45 mph.

Orange City:
After the storm, contractors will remove debris in areas that can be
safely accessed. Residents who can safely do so should place unbagged,
storm-generated debris on the public right-of-way. The public
right-of-way is the area of residential property that extends from the
street to the sidewalk, ditch, utility pole or easement. Residents are
urged to ensure set-out debris is only vegetative and not mixed any
other types of debris or garbage. Only loose, unbagged, vegetative
debris will be collected.
Do not place debris near a water meter vault, fire hydrant, mail box or
any other above-ground utility. Only debris placed on the public
right-of-way will be eligible for collection until further notice.
Regular household garbage, yard waste and recycling will not be picked
up Monday, Sept. 11. If roadways are clear, garbage and yard waste will
be collected on Tuesday, Sept. 12, and recycling will be collected
Wednesday, Sept. 13. If WCA is unable to collect Sept. 12 and 13, it
will collect as soon as roadways are clear and safe.
South Daytona:
Yard waste, trash and other debris should not be left curbside before
the storm. There will be no pickup before the hurricane hits. Trash and
debris can create dangerous projectiles and clog storm drains. There
will be no regular waste pick up on Monday, Sept.11; do not place trash
out. Waste pickup will resume when weather and street conditions.
Regularly scheduled waste pickup is canceled Monday, Sept. 11. Do not
place trash curbside until the pickup date is announced on the city's
Facebook page or website. Following the storm, all hurricane debris must
be separated:
- Vegetative debris must be separated from any construction
debris.
- Hazardous materials, appliances and electronic equipment will
not be collected.
- Do not mix plastic bags in with yard waste piles.
- Do not stack debris under trees, power lines and obstacles that
would prevent the bucket arm from reaching debris.
- Do not block fire hydrants, utility meters, mailboxes and
drainage ditches.
- No open burning is allowed in the City.
- Debris will not be removed from private roads.
Daytona Beach International Airport:
- The passenger terminal will close 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. The last
flight of the day will be Delta’s 3:15 p.m. departure. Flights on
Sunday are canceled.
- JetBlue will operate Saturday, Sept. 9, but has canceled flights
Sunday, Sept. 19.
- American Airlines will not operate Saturday, Sept. 9, and has canceled
its last inbound flight tonight. The last arrival today is at 5:12 p.m.
- Travelers should monitor flights next week with the airlines. As the
storm passes, staff will work to restore operations.
- The airport is not a shelter.
