DELAND, Fla. - The Volusia Sheriff's Office announced Sunday morning that it was investigating a pair of shootings that took place in DeLand over the weekend. Thankfully no deaths have been reported, but one person was injured between the two incidents.

According to the VSO, the first shooting occurred Friday night. A 17-year-old was admitted to the hospital just before midnight with a gunshot wound, which was described as being non-life-threatening. Detectives say they've gathered that the shooting happened on South Brooks Ave, but not many other details of what happened have yet made themselves clear.

The second of the two shootings is said to have happened shortly after 1:00 am on Sunday morning. Like the first one it has also been pinpointed to South Brooks Ave. No injuries were reported in this shooting as of Monday afternoon, but a house and car were reportedly struck by bullets.

Little is known about either shooting and investigations into both are ongoing by VSO detectives. Those who may have information helpful to the police investigations are asked to contact the Volusia Sheriff's Office at (386) 248-1777, or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at (888) 277-TIPS.
