DeLand, FL - A violent criminal is off the streets after the Volusia Sheriff’s Office West Volusia Crime Suppression Team found and arrested him Thursday (December 26). The team got information on the vehicle that 20-year-old Kevin Gaines, Jr. has been driving and tracked him to a home located at 409 W. Beresford.

A deputy spotted the vehicle at the home. Investigators, monitoring Instagram, found that Gaines was live on the app. A detective determined that Gaines was in the house. He pointed his spotlight at a window and could see the light show up in the live Instagram video shortly before it abruptly ended. Deputies and DeLand Police officers surrounded the home and Gaines was taken into custody without incident.
