Woman Arrested in Deadly Deltona Hit-and-Run

DELTONA, Fla. - 35-year-old Ashley Hill was arrested on Tuesday for a deadly hit-and-run crash in Deltona earlier this year that left one man dead. Though it took four months for the victim's family to see some semblance of justice, they now have a suspect in custody.

The crash occurred on May 10th of this year, when 33-year-old David Radosta was traveling on his scooter near Deltona Middle School. According to the Volusia Sheriff's Office, Hill turned onto Enterprise Road into Radosta's lane, and the two collided head-on. Radosta did not survive the injuries he sustained in the crash.

This is where the police's story becomes strange: Hill is said to have left the scene of the crash without giving aid to Radosta or calling emergency responders, but then returned to the scene about 90 seconds later. There, she joined others who'd approached to try and give aid.

A warrant for Hill's arrest was signed on Tuesday, with her being charged with leaving the scene of a deadly crash. She turned herself in and her bond was set at $25,000, which the Volusia County Branch Jail says she posted Wednesday morning. Prior arrests for Hill include battery, aggravated stalking, and violation of pretrial release.
