Bunnell, FL - A 19-year-old Palm Coast woman is facing two felony charges, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Leaving the Scene of a Crash Resulting in Bodily Injury. Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Jasmine Vogt on Tuesday (Dec. 18, 2018) morning after witnesses, including victims, identified Vogt as the driver of a white Toyota that was driven directly at them.
The victims told officers that Vogt had gotten into a fight with a neighbor at 2310 E. Moody Blvd. on Monday, then slashed the tires on one of the victim's vehicles. On Tuesday, the two victims were walking across E. Moody Blvd when they noticed Vogt's car. As they approached to talk about the slashed tires, a passenger in Vogt's car said that she drove straight at the victims, then drove away.
The male victim stated that he did not need medical attention but the female was on the ground when deputies arrived, screaming in pain, saying that she could not feel her lower legs. After being assessed by EMTs, the victim was pronounced a trauma alert and transported to Halifax Hospital. She had an open leg fracture and a very high heart rate.
A witness driving through the area at the time of the accident confirmed that the white Toyota ran the victims over and then left the scene. The passenger in Vogt's car contacted FCSO and told them where Vogt could be found. Vogt was located and told deputies that she ran the victims over because they charged her car and she feared for her safety. Officers asked why she didn't call law officers to report the incident. Vogt's response, "I didn't think about it."
