Deltona, FL -  A 27-year-old Deltona woman is charged with manslaughter in the overdose death of an Osteen man. The Volusia Sheriff's  Office Deltona Crime Suppression Team arrested Kristen Lower during a traffic stop on Friday, October 2.

The victim, 29-year-old Michael Holland, was pronounced dead at his home after family members found him unresponsive on May 25, 2019.

Investigators tracked text messages to determine Lower's involvement with supplying the deadly drugs to Holland. The heroin she sold him was cut with fentanyl.

When Lower was arrested on Friday on the manslaughter charge, she was also charged with possession of Oxycodone, possession of a Schedule II substance, and driving with a suspended license. Lower has been arrested nine times in Volusia County since 2015 and each arrest involved the possession of either heroin, cocaine, or paraphernalia.

Lower is the seventh person to be charged by VSO  with murder or manslaughter in connection to a drug overdose death since 2017. She posted a $25,000 bond on the manslaughter charge and $5,500 on her other charges and was released Friday evening.
