Deltona, FL - Volusia Sheriff's deputies say that 47-year-old Jennifer Hall is charged with theft of a controlled substance and neglect of an elderly adult. They say she stole her 86-year-old father's Oxycodone, replacing it with Tylenol.

Hall was arrested yesterday (December 18) afternoon. An investigation into the theft began when a hospice nurse reported to the Sheriff's Office that the medication was missing. She had examined the contents of the Oxycodone container and found the Tylenol.

A different nurse reported that Hall's father had to be administered fentanyl patches to deal with his pain after going without the Oxycodone for a week.

This is not the first time Hall has been arrested for crimes against her father and her 81-year-old mother. She was arrested in January 2019 for pushing her father to the ground after he stepped in front of her as she approached her mother during a heated argument.

Hall's mother told deputies that she is afraid of her daughter and at night she locks herself in the bedroom with all her belongings, medications and pets for fear that Hall might steal them and sell or pawn them.

Deputies say that Hall was at her parents' home when they came to investigate but fled out the back door when they arrived. They quickly found her crouching behind a bush in the back yard. She was taken into custody without incident.

This is the seventh arrest for Hall since March 2018. Most of the charges have been battery on a person over the age of 65.  She's being held in the Volusia County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
